Surprising my daughter with better internet access

My daughter spends a lot of her time on line, chatting with her friends, staying on top of all the latest celebrity news and even doing some homework from time to time. The problem is, we only have dial up where we live because we are so far back in the woods. Weekly my daughter whines until I phone our local telephone company to see if they have any intentions of bringing high speed internet out our way. And each week the answer is always, we’ll see.
Even though I don’t tend to spend as much time on line as my daughter does, I can still sympathize with her about how slow and unreliable our internet is. The odd time I log on I am usually booted off within minutes. And it’s inconvenient to have the phone line tied up all evening, especially when my husband works the back shift and may need to get through to the house.
So I did a bit of research and decided to see if we had satellite internet access out here and thankfully we do! My daughter doesn’t know it, but I’ve got a big surprise for her birthday next week. No more dial up. I can only imagine how excited she’ll be.
