We all have random items in our homes that we don’t use but don’t want to get rid of. The best thing that we can do with these items is to find a way to display them. The problem is that these items often don’t go with our existing decor.
Here are some tips for adding odd objects to your home decor:
- Put random items in matching shadow boxes. Take an old baseball glove, an airsoft gun and a broken camera and frame them individually in matching shadowboxes. The similar frames will give these unusual objects a cohesive look when they’re hung together on the wall.
- Pretend the items are sculptures. Where would you place a new sculpture if you had just purchased it at an art auction? You may be able to showcase individual odd objects in the same space.
- Make use of your corners. Random items can be used to decorate corners which are usually a blank spot of most home decor. Use a corner shelf to collect everything in one spot. Taller pieces can stand on the floor.
Don’t just keep your items sitting in storage. If you’re not going to get rid of them, find a way to get them out and on display.
