Defending the Gate

My friend is a hardcore Stargate fan. He owns every season of SG-1 and all the seasons of Atlantis that have come out on dvd. He owns all the computer games and even has First Prime costumes on display in his home.
Someone pointed out to him one day about a year ago that some of the scenes on SG-1 looked like airsoft games. Of course, this got my friend’s imagination going and he then started to become a hardcore airsoft gamer.
The first thing he done was to buy him a P90. Echo1 airsoft guns seem to be his gun of choice, although he did buy some kwa airsoft guns. He also picked up some grenade launchers to use in the simulations.
I decided to go out with him for one of his games. He went all out for the game. A day earlier, he came to the site of the game and erected a mock Stargate, complete with dialing device.
The day of the game he came decked out in full SGC gear. I think he has fantasies of being Jack O’Neil. I actually chose to be on the opposing side. I ended up leading my “Jaffa” group.
Sadly for my friend, we won. The SGC didn’t save the universe this time. Long live Apohos!
