Are you trying to find the right place to do your Cisco training? It’s a tough decision to make, isn’t it? Here are a few things that you might want to look for when choosing your Cisco certification training program:
- Affordability. Choose a training program that you can afford. See if your employer will help out with the cost.
- Convenience. Is there a training campus near you? Can you take the courses that you need to take online?
- Great instructors. You want to get a high-quality technology education from people who have a solid history in this industry.
- Flexibility. You want a program that is flexible enough to meet your needs. Are there self-paced classes? Can you meet with instructors on weekends?
- Personal touch. You should take a program that offers you some level of one-on-one interaction with your educators.
- The right courses. You can get several different types of Cisco certification. Does the program that you are looking into have the type of certification that you want to get?
If you consider these factors when choosing your training site then you should end up getting the kind of Cisco education that will work best for you both during school and afterwards on the job.
Being Happy With What You Choose

My boyfriend and I have very different approaches when it comes to shopping. My goal is to find a product that satisfies my needs. My boyfriend’s goal is to get the best product available as defined by some objective source. I believe that my method leads to greater happiness with the things that I have.
A recent example of this came up when we decided to switch to a new web host for our shared website. I wanted to find affordable web hosting that would meet our needs in terms of speed, storage and tech support from the company. My boyfriend insisted that we had to read dozens of reviews to determine which is the best web hosting service as chosen by experts in the industry.
The process took a lot longer doing it his way than doing it my way would have taken. In the end, he wasn’t totally satisfied because he worried that maybe he had made the wrong choice. He figured there might be some better option out there that we hadn’t found. I believe that we made a good choice because the web host that we chose meets our needs. I’m able to be content with the choice even if there is an objectively “better” option out there.
How do you make purchase decisions? Does your method make you happy?
Attending a Digital Document Webinar

One of my biggest beliefs is that it is very important to keep up with the latest business technologies to better serve my customers. I suppose that makes sense considering we have a store that sells technology (including computers, network attached scanners, printers and more) to local businesses. Even though we compete with some big box stores, I like to think that we can provide better expertise and service than they can, and we do whatever we need to do to reach that goal.
So it should come as no surprise that I am attending a webinar on digital document management. Basically the focus will be how to integrate digital documents into any organization and it will cover how to attain that goal.
The webinar is being put on by a number of prominent document imaging companies and they will be highlighting the benefits and challenges of implementing a digital document management system. Though some people might find it to be a dry topic, I am really looking forward to it as it is another opportunity to serve our customers.
It will also be a good opportunity for our business to provide a service that is currently unavailable in our community, which should mean it could be a very profitable opportunity. So, I am hoping that the information that I learn will be a good fit for our business – worst case, I will have fun, right?
Discussing Hearing Problems with Older Employees

It can be a delicate business, bringing up hearing problems with an older employee. Many people tend to be resistant to believing their hearing is going as they age. That’s why it’s so common to see older people who refuse to wear their hearing aids, or keep them turned down all the time, forcing everyone who talks to them to speak loudly and repeat things frequently.
Of course, that kind of behavior isn’t good for business, so it’s important to bring it up if you think hearing problems are making it difficult for your older employee to do his or her job correctly.
You can’t really require that an older employee go to a hearing clinic, but you can definitely bring up to them the fact that their hearing seems to be affecting their quality of work. Theoretically, if you bring up your concerns and make it clear that their job performance is suffering, most people should be able to make the connection themselves and go see a doctor uncoerced.
The Americans with Disabilities Act makes it illegal to discriminate against someone with a disability, as long as they can still do the important parts of the job. This is another part of why the topic of hearing problems is such a delicate one. However, you are only required to make concessions for your disabled employees that do not pose an undue hardship — and only if they request it. So if your employee is still refusing to get help, and their hearing problems are significantly affecting the quality of their work, you are not obligated to continue to employ them.

People who work in groups may find that they can make use of software designed for groups. This software can keep the group in better contact and allow everyone to be more organized.
A few types of software for groups include:
- Communication software. This is simple group software designed to facilitate communication between group members. It may include instant messaging and forums for communication.
- Project tracking software. This software helps everyone on a team keep track of where everyone else is in terms of completing a project.
- Scheduling software. There is group software available that organizes everyone’s schedules in one place. This is good for setting up meetings and retreats since you can see when different people will be available.
- Team management software. This is general software that serves a lot of functions. If you have read about the other types of software and have been wondering if there’s something that does all of these functions in one then team management software is your solution.
A lot of this software is available for free on the Internet. It’s worth it to check out which types there are and to see how they may work for your group. Play around with it and have fun!
My Birthday Wish List

One of the things that my parents promised us when we were children is that for our twenty first birthday they would grand us our birthday wish. The wish could be anything we desired (within reason) and within a budget (up to $25,000), but they would grant it. They let us know about this when we were five, so we had nearly sixteen years to think about it.
The benefit of all that time to think about our wish was that we were going to carefully weigh our options. Ideally, we wouldn’t pick something ridiculous or dumb, and I think in some sense, it has made us appreciate the value of thinking through our decisions. Had they chosen not to give us the time to think, I think that all of us three kids would have been disappointed with our choices.
With my birthday coming up in just a couple of weeks, I think that I have finally come up with my wish. I have decided that I want to pursue my childhood dream of swimming with dolphins. I have found a cruise line that offers that as one of their cruisers activities in Mexico and have looked into the price for our whole family to go, and it will fit in the budget.
I can’t wait to experience my dream with my family beside me - I think that it will be my best birthday ever!
Grandparents Scam

Have you heard of that scam that’s going around right now that’s targeted toward grandparents? It’s wild, but this happened to my sons’ grandparents just a couple of weeks ago. They called me to ask if my son was home and okay. Someone had called them claiming to be him in trouble in Canada! When his grandfather asked if he was in an accident or in jail, all the guy on the other end would tell him was, “Sort of.”
The gist of the whole thing was that whomever was posing as him wanted them to wire money. But since his grandmother said it didn’t sound like him, the caller on the other end hung up. And that’s why she called me right away to make sure he was okay.
I guess quite a few people fell for it and wired their precious money away. It’s so sad that these predators target the elderly, and especially their love for their grandchildren. It’s not enough that they have to worry about their health and their safety. Now they have to worry about predators, too. It would be nice if all they had to worry about was bingo and shuffleboard. But they don’t.

Debt is something that we think of as a bad thing. It’s certainly not good to have a lot of debt. However, debt isn’t always terrible. In fact, it has some benefits. One of the biggest benefits is that debt creates jobs. In fact, an entire industry of new jobs has been created as a direct result of the fact that people in America are in so much debt today.
Debt collectors are an obvious example of people who are employed because debt exists. The more people there are in debt, the more jobs there are for people who can help to collect on that debt. The people who call your office to remind you that your bills are due may be annoying but they need jobs too!
Not all jobs resulting from debt are jobs that exploit people’s debt problems. Some jobs have been created to help people who are in debt. Debt consulting services are able to operate because of the fact that there are a lot of people in debt who need help figuring out what to do with their financial problems. This is a job that didn’t exist when people didn’t have so much debt but it’s sure an important job today!
Boat accessories make your vessel come alive

If you need to buy new or quality used outboard parts for your boat, what choices do you have? If you’re fortunate enough to live near a marina, or other area where there might be a number of parts sellers, you may have a great choice. If on the other hand you need to purchase your parts and boat accessories online, how do you know what to look for in a supplier?
For the most part, the reputable online parts resellers will have certain aspects in common. First off, if the company you are thinking of buying a used part does not have a solid, money back guarantee that ensures you are going to be happy, navigate yourself to the next online vendor. Not everything goes smoothly with any online retailer. When you are purchasing parts for your boat, you need to know that in the event of some challenge, this company will be there with you, not running to cash your check at the bank.
Finally, make sure that you are purchasing quality official parts and accessories. If you even think you have received parts that are not certified authentic, send them back and request a refund. Your boat is important to you, and putting anything less than manufacturer approved parts will simply not pass muster.
